In collaboration with the CityU, the University of Oxford, and the Karolinska Institutet, the Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health Engineering (COCHE) was established with the support of the ITC-InnoHK Programme to develop new ways to tackle cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is the world’s leading cause of morbidity and mortality. To address the most pressing health challenges caused by CVD, COCHE focuses on developing innovative technologies such as flexible and wearable devices, biomedical and molecular imaging, nano-biosensing, micro-robotics, healthcare AI systems, and other groundbreaking methods to enable early prevention, diagnosis and intervention of the disease. Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic App Development Intern to join our team. You will work on an innovative project that involves developing a machine learning model for image processing in a mobile app. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Image Library Management: Assist in the development and management of an image library to train machine learning models for chip detection.
Programming and Development: Collaborate with the development team to implement features and functionalities in our application, ensuring seamless integration of machine learning methods.
Testing and Optimization: Participate in testing and optimizing the app, providing valuable feedback on performance and usability.
General Qualification
Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript or R; familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills with a passion for technology and innovation; eagerness to learn and apply new skills in a real-world environment.

Remuneration & Duration of Appointment
The remuneration package will be highly competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits for full-time appointments include leave and medical insurance, etc. The possibility of re-appointment after the initial contract period will be based on performance evaluation and mutual agreements.
